Hello world!

Hi there interweb people!  Welcome aboard my adventures in urban gardening.  We’ll see how it goes, both the blogging and gardening.

The first batch of posts will be a mishmash of bringing you up to speed on what i’ve done to the space so far (i’ve had it for 8 months) and what i’m doing now, since us gardeners are well under way with the last frost (around tax day in D.C.) quickly approaching.  For now, I’ll introduce you to my babies who are destined for the cold frame in a few weeks.

These are some kale and chard seedlings that i started under lights in my basement on January 13th.  Will start hardening them off soon.

Hey Ryan! Congrats on the urban garden. What month is the best for me to stop by for lunch?

Yeah!! Eat more kale, you hippie. Nice blog. Are you going to rip up your yard?

indeed! everyone should eat more kale, not just the hippies…the yard is mostly ripped up, so i’ll have to catch everyone up before spring really get going
