Oops, I Did It Again!

Remember how i was saying that i’m working on proper spacing and not planting too early?  Well, 1 out of 2 is not so bad, right?

I had to transplant my tomatoes, which i started too early indoors (a note for next year’s sprouting under lights), because they were getting huge! They looked really good, nice strong healthy growth, so the lights were strong enough and on for long enough, so at least i got that part right. Ended up putting in two plants each of Amish Paste, Amana Orange, and Costaluto Genovese, nice and spaced out- 26 inches apart.

Not that putting tomatoes out now for this area is the worst thing on the planet, especially since it looks like the next week is not going to be too chilly at night.  I know that tomatoes get stall out for a bit if overnight lows hit 45, so i’m cutting it close!

I’m trying a new (for me) type of trellis, shown in the photo i yanked from another website- i’ll show you what mine looks like when there’s more light. People have come up with some creative ways to grow tomatoes, here are some great examples.
