Front Yard Transplants

After transplanting the rest of my winter starts, the front yard is pretty full up.  Put out the eggplants and peppers: I know, it’s a bit early, but they were getting root bound in their pots since i started them indoors 2 weeks too early.  A few peppers even had buds on them.  These were pinched off so the plant focuses on putting down some roots before trying to fruit again.

Also sewed some seed to keep the carrot and beet rotation going (i’ve been sewing a row or two every 3 weeks).  I’ll continue this with carrots, but will stop with the beets since they don’t appreciate DC’s hot summers.  Threw in some purple carrot seeds and a multi colored beet mix to change things up a bit.  One of the reasons to grown your own: you don’t have to eat what the grocery store tells you!
