Grow like the Wind!

I built a pergola last fall in an effort to get some shade over the back patio.  When it was finished, i planted a yellow version of the native honeysuckle to trellis up and over the pergola.  It’s growing out of control!  Any day now, i’m expecting it to look at me and say, “Feed Me!”  We want it to grow like mad: just think of the humming birds it’ll attract!

You can see how tiny it was when we planted it: now it’s over 8 feet tall and has some flowers to show off as well.  It’s starting to support itself as well, the leads spinning around each other as they go.

Here’s my first decent harvest of tomatoes as well: and there’s 50 or so more on the vine now with plenty more in flower.  Tis the season for fresh mozzarella and basil sandwiches!
