Breaking All Kinds of Records

This year has been a crazy one for the weather in the DC Metro region.  The summer was incredibly hot and dry, followed immediately by a hurricane and tropical storm that dumped 10 inches of rain in a week!

Now it’s freaking snowing!  That’s right, not even November, and it’s snowing; not that we got a lot, but still, breaking records.

Thankfully, the cold weather crops that survived the summer heat and bug infestation(s) are quite happy.  I’m still cutting chard, diggin up carrots, cutting a little basil and the occasional tiny zucchini, and a few fennel bulbs are growing like mad.

Give it a few days, and we’ll have another round of strawberries!
